Merchant Privacy Policy
For merchants using Vendcite to power their stores.
This policy explains how Vendcite handles personal information for merchants, store owners, and team members. It should be read together with our General Privacy Policy.
Last updated: July 4, 2026
1. Introduction
1.1 If you are a Merchant using Vendcite to run your business, we collect and use your personal information to provide the platform and its Services, and to help you manage your store and relationships with customers. Please also review our General Privacy Policy, which describes practices that apply across the platform.
2. What information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it
2.1 We collect personal information when you register for Vendcite, use the platform, or provide information to us directly. We may also use third-party providers to help review accounts for fraud, identity verification, or compliance concerns. In general, we need this information to operate the Services available to you.
| What we collect | How we use it |
|---|---|
| Information you provide about you and your business, such as your name, staff or team member names, company name, address, email address, and phone number. |
|
| Payment information you provide, such as card details or bank account information for subscriptions, fees, or payouts. |
|
| Information about how you access Vendcite websites, your account, and our platform, including device and browser details, network connection, IP address, and how you browse our websites, dashboard, and connected applications. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies. |
|
| Government-issued identification or verification images you submit, including photos used to confirm identity. |
|
| Optional information you choose to share about diversity characteristics of your business, such as racial, ethnic, or other voluntarily disclosed details used for merchant spotlight programs. |
|
2.2 We may also receive information about merchants or prospective merchants from partner companies, for example to prevent fraud or when we sponsor events you attend.
3. When and why we share your information
3.1 Running a business online involves many tools and partners. We work with service providers that help us deliver Vendcite Services, and we may share your personal information with them when needed to operate the platform, process payments, provide support, or improve security.
3.2 We may also share your personal information:
- To prevent or investigate suspected fraud, threats to safety, illegal activity, or violations of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy
- To support marketing and advertising activities related to Vendcite
- To comply with legal obligations or respond to valid court orders, regulatory requests, or similar government demands
- In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
3.3 Most merchants also use non-Vendcite services to support their business, such as payment gateways, social media platforms, or shipping providers. Vendcite does not control how those services use your information. You should review the privacy practices of any third-party service you connect to your store.
4. Your rights over your information
4.1 You should be able to access and control your personal information regardless of where you live. You can access and correct much of your information directly through your Vendcite account settings. For information you cannot update in your profile, contact us at admin@vendcite.com.
4.2 Because we need your personal information to provide Vendcite Services, we generally retain it while you use the platform. If you close your Store, stop paying subscription fees, or we terminate your Account, we may keep Store-related information for up to two years before starting our deletion process. We retain data for a period rather than deleting immediately in case you reactivate your Account or if a legal complaint, audit, or investigation relates to your business. If you request deletion of your Store information, we will begin the deletion process after 90 days unless we are legally required to keep specific records. After personal information is anonymized, we may continue using non-identifiable data to improve our Services.
5. Your customers' information
5.1 To power your store, we collect and use personal information about your customers on your behalf. In general, we process this information as directed by you and as described in our Customer Privacy Policy and General Privacy Policy.
5.2 Because you decide how customer personal information is used in your business, you must ensure your customers understand how you—and how we on your behalf—collect and process their data. At a minimum, publish a privacy policy on your Store that explains what you collect, how you use it, and who you share it with. Vendcite may provide tools to help you create this notice.
5.3 If you collect sensitive personal information from customers, such as health data, biometric data, trade union membership, political opinions, religious beliefs, criminal history, or similar categories defined by applicable law, you must obtain clear, affirmative consent before using or processing that information.
